I trained at the Leeds Dental Institute and earned my Master of Dental Surgery with Merit. After a short break from clinical work, I'm back in practice, currently in a hygiene therapy role at a clinic in Oxfordshire.
What pulls at me most is digital dentistry. I think scanning, design, and 3D resin printing are changing what a practice can offer, and that a lot of the treatment we still spread across several visits could be done in one. Resin printing is what draws me in particular, since it keeps the cost of getting started low.
The part I'd really like to help build is same-day dentistry with the lab brought in-house, so a patient can leave with the work done rather than waiting weeks for it. I'm not looking for a dental role, but if your practice wants to invest in that, I'd be glad to give my time and energy to building it with you.
Alongside clinical work, I'm skilled at building practice automations and software that take the friction out of the jobs which quietly slow a practice down, and that save a dental team time and money. I also founded dentalbee.co.uk, a blog on technology and innovation in dental care, and I like keeping up with where the field is going.
I'd like to see more treatment happen in a single visit, so people aren't taking time off work again and again for the sake of one tooth.
Bringing design and 3D printing into the practice gives a team more control over quality and turnaround, and I find that side of the work genuinely interesting.
I'm skilled at building practice automations and software, the kind of small tools that save a dental team time and money.
I like keeping up with where dentistry is heading, especially the digital side, and I'd rather try things out for myself than only read about them.
