GDC-registered dentist. MDS (Merit), University of Leeds.
Based in Oxford.
I trained at the Leeds Dental Institute and earned my Master of Dental Surgery with Merit. Clinical skill has always mattered to me, but I've come to believe that the relationship between clinician and patient matters just as much.
I believe in evidence-based dentistry, coupled with human factors inspired by the biopsychosocial model of health. To me, biology, psychology, and social context each have a role to play in how someone feels, and I try to keep all of that in mind when I'm planning treatment.
Transparency matters to me. I try to be open with my patients about what I see, what the options are, and what I think a realistic outcome might look like. I'd rather earn their trust over time than assume it.
Alongside clinical work, I founded dentalbee.co.uk, a blog on technology and innovation in dental care. I have also completed over 160 hours of verifiable CPD across 15 clinical categories via dentistry.co.uk/cpd. I enjoy keeping up with developments in the field.
I believe the best clinical relationships grow out of honest communication. I try to be open with my patients about what I see, the options available, and my own clinical judgement.
I try to see the person before the tooth, and to understand someone's situation properly before I start planning treatment.
I believe in combining evidence-based dentistry with an appreciation of human factors, drawing from the biopsychosocial model of health. Biology, psychology, and social context each have a role to play in how someone feels.
I enjoy continuous learning. The 160+ CPD hours I've completed across 15 categories weren't about ticking boxes; I genuinely like keeping up with the field.
